Good News Church is a group of about 25 people who believe in the Good News of Jesus. We are of all ages and live across the High Peak area and worship together in Whaley Bridge. Community is important to us and we host various activities such as Come to coffee, Family nights and children and youth events, as well as occasional men's and women's meals.
Good News Church was formerly known as Gospel Hall and was established c 1919.
The church has met at the current premises since 1937, which were originally built as a Free United Methodist Chapel in 1871. By 1920 it had become a Liberal Club known as Partington Hall, then became a church again - Gospel Hall - in 1937.

We meet together on Sundays and try to have something for everyone, generally worshipping together with a mix of ages. Our time together includes God's word being read and shared, praise and worship, fellowship, discussion, music, dramas, maybe a video clip.... We share communion monthly in the morning service and there is an evening communion and healing service once a month.
As Christians we believe everyone is made in God's image and he invites us all to have a relationship with him, through Christ Jesus.
We are part of the Whaley Bridge Open the Book team - taking assemblies in local primary schools.
Locally our church is part of Churches Together Whaley Bridge where we work together with other Christians in the town. We are involved in the local community through a series of events which we do together as churches each year, including six joint services, lent groups and family activities.
In WhaleyBridge we run some activities for young people and families. We aim for our worship to have "something for everyone". We have TNT after school drop in for secondary young people on Tuesday and Wednesdays and Games nights for families and all ages roughly every six weeks!
In Buxton, we support Good News Family Care, which was first set up by members of Good News Church in 1994
